![]() ![]() They consider his masterpiece of a book as a mere coffee-table book or a book that you use for light reading when you are traveling and then forget all about it. The first problem is that most people are too lazy to implement the ideals of Stephen Covey in their lives. There are two main problems here, and we are talking only about the people who have read the book already. ![]() Now, I am not saying that by using Covey’s model, or anyone else’s model for that matter, you can become a sure-shot success, but at least we should have seen many more successes around us already judging by the number of copies the book has sold! So, where is the shortcoming? This is definitely true because we still see so much failure all around us. This book was wonderful education for people, education in how to live life effectively and get closer to the ideal of being a ‘success’ in life.īut not everyone understands Stephen Covey’s model fully well, or maybe there are some people who haven’t read it yet. ![]() ![]() When Stephen Covey first released The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, the book became an instant rage because people suddenly got up and took notice that their lives were headed off in the wrong direction and more than that, they realized that there were so many simple things they could do in order to navigate their life correctly. ![]()

False memory dean koontz summary5/29/2023 ![]() ![]() The way Koontz ties up the loose ends are brilliant, tongue-in-cheek and even good for a laugh. ![]() While I do not want to spoil anything here, let's just say that the evil force behind it all has been fleshed out in *creative* (the key-word to the book) detail, keeping the listender mesmerized and literally sweaty handed. ![]() However, I would have to contain myself not to call this book the work of genius. Is the book too long? Sure it is, Koontz-novels almost always are. While some argue that the book is too long, I think that everybody who brings an appreciation for creativity to the book, will fall in love with this one, leave alone the suspense. The audio book breaks down pretty much in 3 seven hour parts and I can honestly say that the middle part represents the strongest I have come about in the thriller-genre. This book, together with "The face" ranks among my top 3 Koontz-books, absolutely world-class. First of all, congratulations to Stephen Lang, for doing such a superb job with the book, I enjoyed him the second time now, he also reads "by the light of the moon" by Dean Koontz. ![]()

A Certain Exposure by Jolene Tan5/29/2023 ![]() ![]() When they do, it becomes a mound of paperwork for the police force and makes national news.) The book is told through a series of official reports and footnotes and, despite the staid presentation, manages to build enough suspense to be a convincing thriller. (Some context for my international readers: Gun incidents are incredibly rare, even the police don’t fire their weapons. ![]() The reader follows senior civil servant Boon Teck as he chronicles the events around the shooting of one Sergeant Mohammed Hafiz. Thankfully, Jolene Tan manages to find one of the few interesting entry points into this world – by introducing a gun. The book is set within the Singaporean public service, a system notorious for its bureaucratic procedures and jargon and not my idea of an enticing read. I had a hard time getting started with After the Inquiry. More details on how to win can be found after my review. Ethos has also extended this kindness to you, the reader, by making the book available for a giveaway. The publisher, Ethos Books, very kindly sent me an advanced reading copy for review.
