Ted chiang stories5/30/2023 ![]() ![]() The Evolution of Human Science – The invigorating thought experiment that one can expect from Futures. Very exciting scene in the climax, though!ġ6. Seventy-Two Letters - I appreciated the steampunk world Ted has created here, but to me the premise or story of this novella did not justify its length. What you see is what you get with this flash fiction piece.ġ7. Darcy’s Patent Automatic Nanny – Let's be clear: Chiang is incapable of writing anything bad, but this simply isn’t as deep or impactful as the rest of Chiang’s work. Which short stories left an impact on you?ġ8. Here's my ranking, as well as short reviews for each story, but I'm interested in seeing other's rankings as well. However, since it's going to be another decade before we get another short story collection from him (or novel, maybe? Fingers crossed) I figure we could rank his stories. Ted Chiang is probably my favorite modern writer, and I'm thankful that many people in this sub seem to appreciate his work as well. ![]()

Ruining dahlia by cr5/30/2023 ![]() ![]() In my defence, I would like to say that I'm not expecting this book to be as plot-heavy as J.R.R Tolkien's works or anything, some novels simply don't have that much meat and that's okay. Just to preface, I'm going to complain a lot about plot. Okay, so there were several issues in this book which I hope the authors address when going forward with the series or change if they republish/edit this novel.
